- Fonts, images and the walkthrough video are served from this website.

1. Who is responsible
The controller for personal data processed through ono.smeidu.com is:
Markus SchmeiduchHaushoferstr 5/8
4062 Kirchberg-Thening, Austria
ono@smeidu.com
+43 680 14 63 747
This policy covers this website and feedback or enquiries about ONO. It does not describe data processing by the desktop application or by websites and AI services you choose to use inside it.
2. Website delivery and server logs
The website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. Your browser sends technical information to the hosting service when requesting a page or file, including your IP address, request time, requested address, browser information and, where supplied, the referring page. Server logs can also contain response codes and the amount of data transferred.
This processing delivers the website, diagnoses faults and protects it against misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in reliable and secure operation under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Technical connection data is necessary to serve the requested content.
Log retention is governed by the hosting account’s log rotation and the need to diagnose errors or investigate security incidents. Relevant records may be retained for an incident’s investigation and resolution. We do not create a separate visitor-tracking database from these logs. Contact us for information about a particular request or log record.
More information: ALL-INKL privacy information.
3. Cookies, fonts and video
The website chooses German or English from your browser’s language preferences. If you explicitly switch languages, only the language code is saved in this browser’s local storage so your choice is respected on later visits. This preference is not sent to an analytics service and does not identify you. Explicit German and English page addresses also work without browser storage or JavaScript.
We do not set first-party cookies or use browser storage for analytics, advertising or visitor profiles. Roboto, Roboto Mono, the logo, images and video are hosted locally. Playing the walkthrough does not load YouTube or another video platform.
The choice to load the Google feedback form applies only to the current page and is not saved in a cookie or local storage. Google may use its own cookies and browser storage after you enable its form, as explained below.
4. Optional feedback through Google Forms
The feedback page offers a Google Form. It is not loaded automatically. Selecting “Load Google Form” connects your browser to Google. Google can receive your IP address, browser and device information and information about your interaction with the form; existing Google cookies or an account session may also be involved.
The form is provided by Google. For users in the European Economic Area, Google identifies Google Ireland Limited as its responsible service provider. Google’s processing for its own service and security purposes is described in its privacy policy.
Loading the embedded form is optional and based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, § 165(3) TKG 2021. You can select “Unload Google Form” to stop displaying it and prevent further requests from that embedded form. This does not undo previous transfers or delete cookies already set by Google; you can manage those through your browser. Leaving or reloading this page also resets our loading choice.
The form asks about your experience, ease of use, what worked and what should improve. It also offers an optional email field if you would like a reply. We do not require a Google account, collect email addresses automatically, request file uploads or publish response summaries. Please avoid passwords, private conversations and other sensitive information.
Markus Schmeiduch reviews the submitted answers to understand problems and improve the project. Processing feedback for this purpose is based on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Providing an email address for a reply is voluntary; we use it for that follow-up on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a). It does not subscribe you to a mailing list. You can withdraw that consent by contacting us.
You may instead send feedback to ono@smeidu.com. This avoids loading the Google Forms embed; our email service is described in the next section.
5. Email enquiries
If you contact us by email, we process your address, message, any details or attachments you provide and related correspondence to answer you. Email is handled through Google Workspace. Please send only information needed for your enquiry.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) where the enquiry concerns a contract or steps you request before entering one. We do not add people who contact us to a marketing list.
Windows and Linux update emails
If you request Windows and Linux updates, we use your email address to request a confirmation email through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS). Your address joins only the platform lists you select, and only after you confirm using the email link. Unconfirmed requests are not included in campaigns. This does not subscribe you to a separate general newsletter.
Your choice covers preview and launch news for Windows, Linux or both, as selected. Signing up for another platform does not remove existing confirmed subscriptions. We do not add Windows subscribers to Linux updates automatically. You can withdraw it using the unsubscribe link in any update, or by contacting ono@smeidu.com. We process this subscription on the basis of your consent. Brevo handles the confirmation and subscription records needed to manage the list. See Brevo’s privacy policy.
The signup sends your email address and the platform choices and consent version through our server. We do not put addresses in URLs or store a separate email list on this website. To limit abusive email requests, the server retains keyed hashes of addresses and connection IPs with timestamps using a 24-hour rolling window; expired entries are ignored and removed on the next signup request. This file does not keep the original addresses or IPs. The ordinary hosting logs described above still apply.
Confirmed subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe or we discontinue the selected lists, with an annual review of whether it is still needed. Provider suppression records may remain to honour unsubscribes. We use confirmation and unsubscribe events to manage your subscription, rather than opting you into email open/click tracking.
6. Recipients and international processing
Data is accessed by Markus Schmeiduch and the providers needed to deliver hosting, forms and email. We do not sell personal data. Disclosure may also be necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Google operates internationally and may process information outside the EEA, including in the United States. Google describes reliance on adequacy decisions, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers to certified entities, and standard contractual clauses where required. Details and information on obtaining the safeguards are in Google’s data-transfer information. You can also contact us about the processing of your feedback or correspondence.
7. How long we keep feedback and enquiries
Identifiable feedback is deleted or anonymised within 12 months of submission. Enquiries are deleted within 12 months of the last substantive exchange. An ongoing conversation, a legal retention obligation or a specific legal claim may require longer storage; in that case, we retain only what is needed for that purpose and delete it when the reason ends.
Learning from feedback may be kept in a form that no longer identifies you. These periods concern the records we control, including form responses and working copies. Google’s separate service data and provider backups follow the provider’s applicable deletion processes. Server-log retention is described in section 2.
8. Links to other services
GitHub and portfolio links are ordinary links, not tracking widgets. Following a link or opening Google Forms directly takes you to that provider’s service, where its own privacy policy applies. This website does not send the contents of your local files or agent conversations to those services merely because you visit a page.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Write to ono@smeidu.com to exercise these rights. Include enough context to locate your record; if feedback contains no identifying information, we may need details such as its approximate submission time and content. We do not seek extra identifying information solely to identify otherwise anonymous feedback.
You can complain to a data-protection authority, in particular in the country where you live or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. In Austria, contact the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria, or dsb@dsb.gv.at.
We do not use website visits or feedback for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, or for profiling.
10. Updates
We will update this policy when the website’s processing changes. The date at the top identifies this version.
